Battery care: 8 habits that keep your e‑rickshaw running longer

By Bandhu Motors · 20 Aug 2026 · 5 min read

The battery is the heart of your e-rickshaw. These eight habits cost nothing and protect it every day.

Charge on a routine

Charge at the same time every day, and use the charger that came with your vehicle. A random charger can harm the battery.

Do not run it to zero

Running the battery completely flat again and again shortens its life. Head for charging before it runs out.

Let it cool before charging

After a long run, give the battery a short rest before you plug it in.

Keep terminals clean and tight

Loose or dirty terminals waste power and heat up. Check them once a week.

Do not overload

Carrying more than the vehicle is made for pulls more current and strains the battery and motor.

Park in the shade

Heat is hard on batteries. Shade in summer and a dry spot in the rains both help.

Watch for warning signs

If range suddenly drops or the battery gets unusually hot, get it checked early.

Ask your dealer

Your battery type may have its own care rules. Ask your Bandhu Motors dealer at handover.

Key takeaways

Same charger, same routine
Never run it fully flat
